Break and Enters in Chatham

Chatham-Kent police are investigating a couple of break-ins in Chatham.

Police allege someone entered a vacant house under construction in the area of Bloomington Way in Chatham early Monday morning, caused damage to the property, and stole various tools.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Constable Craig Marentette at craigm@chatham-kent.ca or 519-436-6600. Anonymous callers can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and may be eligible for a cash reward.

Officers also discovered another break and enter early Monday morning while checking the area of Borrowman Street in Chatham following a 911 call.

Police said unknown suspects, possibly in two vehicles, stole $140,000 or 5,000 kg in Primary Cable.

The investigation is ongoing.

Wanted Chatham Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant

A 23-year-old Chatham man with a warrant out for his arrest is back in custody.

Chatham-Kent police said he was found by police in the area of Sandys Street in Chatham Sunday evening.

It's not clear why he was wanted.
