The Waterloo Rural Women are planning their 22nd annual Children's Farm Safety Day this Saturday. Heritage Hill farms in New Dundee will host the event, with a focus on creating safety awareness with school-age children. Board member Sharone Grose says the Safety Day provides a lot more then simply learning safety on the farm in a classroom setting, and notes that it's important to get to kids when they are just starting to work on the farm, before they get drawn into bad habits.
