The flag of Windsor Regiment flies at Windsor City Hall this week in honour of the army reserves 90th anniversary in the city.
The flag features a black and yellow design with a central tank emblem symbolizing the regiment's armored origins.
"It's been a major part of my life and it makes me proud that the city is willing to display our camp flag, it really makes us feel a part of the community," Chief Warrant Officer Richard Sharpe.
Sharpe said that support is particularly meaningful as the Canadian Armed Forces grieves the loss of four of its members who were killed during a fire-related training incident in Alberta.
"We all feel the grief that everyone in Edmonton is going through and the regiments affected. It's reached out to all soldiers across the country. Our hearts are with the families of those who have unfortunately departed and for those that are recovering in hospital," said Sharpe.
People in the community are encouraged to show their support during the Windsor Regiment's Freedom of the City parade in downtown Windsor on October 24, 2026.
"It's incredible how many people came before me and I hope many people come after me," said Captain Cole Gagnon-Reaume. "The unit's tradition and history is something I wear proudly; I'm very happy to be a part of the Windsor Regiment."
