The Town of Amherstburg is celebrating a $100,000 donation to improve amenities in H. Murray Smith Centennial Park.
The money comes from Walker Industries Holdings Ltd. The company announced the donation during its annual community open house, hosted by its 400 employees.
The funds will support new sports courts, and Walker will receive naming rights in recognition of its donation.
Construction in the park is expected to start this fall. The town will release more information in the weeks to come.

"As a fifth-generation Canadian family-owned and operated company, it is an honour to support a community with such a rich history and strong sense of pride."
Walker's McGregor and Amherstburg quarries provide high-quality aggregates to build roads, bridges, homes, and highways. It's been in business for 139 years, with facilities across Canada and the U.S.
