Nurse charged in alleged abuse of child with special needs

Windsor police have charged a registered nurse in connection with the alleged assault of a child with special needs.

The Windsor Police Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit started an investigation in April after receiving a report concerning alleged mistreatment of the child.

Police report the nurse was assigned to care for the child, who has significant medical needs. After an investigation, the 51-year-old nurse was arrested and charged with assault.

Additional information will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
