Kitchener man facing drug trafficking charges after Windsor arrest

A Kitchener man is facing drug trafficking charges after Windsor police seized 55 grams of suspected cocaine.

Police responded to a restaurant on Goyeau Street and University Avenue at around 8:30 p.m. on Friday, after a report of suspected drug activity in one of the business's bathrooms.

After an investigation, police had a clear description of the suspect. Officers located a man matching the description near the intersection of Park Street and Pelissier Street soon after.

Police tried to approach the man, but he allegedly ran away.

After arresting the man, police conducted a search where they reportedly seized 55 grams of suspected cocaine, several other controlled substances that have been submitted for analysis, a digital scale, two cellphones, a pocketknife, and $1,351 in cash.

Windsor police charged the 22-year-old man from Kitchener with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.
