The 13th annual Kids Curing Cancer campaign raised a record-breaking $48,452.30.
The campaign was launched by Lauren, Ty, and Kierstyn Baillargeon in memory of their grandfather in 2013. Since then, the campaign has raised $262,430.60 for local cancer care.
“KCC would not be what it is today without the support of the countless people and organizations who partnered with us,” said Lauren, Ty, and Kierstyn in a news release. “We cannot emphasize enough that we have not done this alone. We are beyond grateful.”
This year's funds will be split evenly between the Erie Shore Health Foundation and the Windsor Cancer Centre.
“Kids Curing Cancer represents the very best of our community,” said Penny Bellhouse, CEO of Erie Shores Health Foundation. “Their dedication, compassion, and commitment to honouring their grandfather’s legacy has created a ripple effect that continues to impact countless lives. It has truly been a privilege to work alongside Lauren, Ty, Kierstyn, and their mother, Jodi as well as many other of their family members and supporters.”
All of the funds will be used to ensure patients can access cancer care close to home.
