Bird e-scooters, e-bikes unavailable as city continues talks to reinstate service

As of Tuesday, Bird e-scooters and e-bikes were unavailable in the City of Windsor.

City and Bird Canada officials are continuing discussions to possibly reinstate the service, but Windsor's agreement with Bird Canada expired as of April 21, 2026.

Over the past five years, residents have rented the e-scooters and e-bikes under a pilot project.

Originally, the vehicles were only offered along the riverfront pathway, but the program was later expanded to include roads and paved pathways in city parks.
