Oldcastle industrial shop remains closed after fire

An industrial shop in Oldcastle that caught fire on Friday afternoon remains closed until fire officials can further assess the damage.

The fire, at 1950 Blackacres Drive, started on the roof, where most of the damage is contained.

The roof of the shop is covered in solar panels.

Tecumseh Deputy Fire Chief Kevin Kavanaugh told WindsorNewsToday.ca there was a lot of smoke and flames on the roof when firefighters arrived.

Workers were still inside the shop when the fire started, but were told to get out by someone who saw the flames.

No one was hurt, and Kavanaugh said fire officials don't have a damage estimate.

The cause of the fire also remains under investigation.
