Windsor police arrest two impaired drivers Wednesday

Windsor police were busy on Wednesday, handling a pair of alleged impaired drivers.

The first incident was reported at around 7 a.m. on Tecumseh Road East near Jefferson Boulevard. Police received a complaint about someone who had driven through the construction site.

When officers arrived and found the female driver, they noticed signs of impairment. She was brought to police headquarters, where she failed a breath test and was arrested.

The 26-year-old woman is charged with impaired driving and driving with excessive blood-alcohol concentration.

The second incident occurred at approximately 11 a.m. Police arrived at the area of Walker Road near Ontario Street and found a man asleep at the wheel. When officers questioned the man, they noticed signs of impairment and found drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

The driver failed a drug recognition test and was arrested. The 29-year-old man is charged with impaired driving by drug.

The charges in both cases have not been proven in court.
