The Downtown Windsor BIA has a new location that it hopes will increase engagement with downtown businesses.
The office is located on the corner of Ouellette Avenue and Park Street, where the Canada Post office was once located.
"We looked at this corner that had been vacant since the post office left last year and it really presented an opportunity for us to be at the centre of what's going on downtown. We want to be more visible for our membership, we want to be more visible for the community," said Chris MacLeod, Chair of the DWBIA.
MacLeod said it cost the association around $25,000 to transform the space to meet their needs. But, because of the extra space, they can give up two of their storage spaces.
"Our hope is that this will increase member engagement because we're more in the flow of them going to and from their businesses. We're hoping we'll get more engagement from the business community by being more accessible," said MacLeod.
