Leamington man arrested after $12K drug bust

It was no April Fools' joke for a Leamington man after Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed a search warrant last week.

Members of the Essex County Street Crime Unit raided a home on the morning of April 1.

The raid led to the seizure of suspected cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamines. OPP Constable Stephanie Caron told WindsorNewsToday.ca that the estimated street value was $12,000.

Other items, such as a cell phone and various personal belongings, were also confiscated.

Members of the West Region OPP Emergency Response Team, the West Region Canine Unit, and the Lambton OPP Street Crime Unit, assisted with the operation.

A 35-year-old Leamington man was arrested and charged with possession of fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine with intent to sell, and possession of proceeds obtained via crime over $5,000.

The charges have not been proven in court.

The suspect was held for a bail hearing in a Windsor court.
