LaSalle police have released more information about the town's first homicide in four years.
Initially it was confirmed that officers responded to Todd Lane near Canada Street at around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday and that a 45-year-old woman was found with serious stab wounds.
She was rushed to hospital where she later passed away from her injuries.
Shortly before 7:30 p.m., Police Chief Michael Pearce released that the victim has been identified as Nancy Grewal of Windsor.
"The LaSalle Police Service offers our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Ms. Grewal," Pearce said, adding that the homicide is being considered an isolated incident.
Police say that the last homicide in LaSalle was in March 2022.
