Body found in Detroit River identified as missing Windsor woman

A body found in the Detroit River over the summer has been identified as a woman who disappeared last year.

Rupinder Kaur, 27, was last seen on the evening of December 17, 2024, in the area of Ouellette Avenue and Chatham Street in downtown Windsor.

LaSalle police reported the discovery of a body in the river off Fighting Island in June of this year.

Forensic tests have confirmed that the body was that of Kaur.

"We extend our deepest condolences to Kaur’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time," read a social media post from Windsor police.

Police do not suspect foul play.
