Leamington's on-demand transit service has improved connectivity for those at Caldwell First Nation.
The Municipality has teamed up with Caldwell First Nation to open a new LT-Go bus stop within the residential subdivision on reserve land.
This bus stop will be the first on reserve land, adding to the LT-Go's current total of 138 stops.
"This partnership between Caldwell First Nation and the Municipality of Leamington is a testament to our strong and growing relationship," said Chief Nikki van Oirschot. "By expanding the LT-Go transit service to include a stop within our community, we are not only increasing access to vital services such as employment, education, and healthcare, but also reinforcing our commitment to building meaningful and progressive partnerships."
Leamington Mayor Hilda MacDonald said the new bus stop is an example of the strong commitment between the Municipality and the band.
"This collaboration demonstrates our commitment to fostering strong relationships and ensuring equitable access to transportation services that support community well-being," said MacDonald.
LT-Go enables riders to book trips in real-time, utilizing both a call-in booking system and an app.
