Who has the best burger in Windsor-Essex?

We'll finally get the answer to a question that has haunted Windsor-Essex residents for the past year.

Who has the best burger in the region?

The Rotary Club of Windsor-Roseland launches its Fourth Annual Burger Battle at Joe Schmoe's on Malden Road on Monday. The battle gets underway at 11:30 a.m.

Along with those much sought-after answers, the public can pick up a passport to save at 18 restaurants, including five that have been added to the list this year.

"Burger Battle is one of those fundraisers that benefits everyone," said Chair Ann Hetherington. "The restaurants see an increase in their business through January to March months, the passport purchaser saves money when they visit the restaurant, and our Rotary Club raises much-needed funds to help those in the community."

The fundraiser has raised $30,000 since 2023 from the sale of the passports. This year, the money will go to the Soup Shack, Welcome Centre for Women, Residence for Young Men, and IRIS House.

For the past two years, Joe Schmoe's has been the "Burger Champ," and the restaurant is back to defend its title.

"Our customers love this promotion and we definitely see an increase in business during the winter months," said owner Candice Lavigne.
