Tentative agreement reached at John McGivney Children's Centre

Services at the John McGivney Children's Centre will not be disrupted after a tentative agreement was reached with staff.

Members of OPSEU Local 170 were set to strike at 12:01 a.m. Thursday if a deal was not reached.

“This agreement reflects the shared commitment of all parties to work collaboratively in support of the children, youth, and families we serve,” said Jennifer Jovanovski, JMCC CEO. “We look forward to continuing our important work together, providing the highest quality care, programs, and supports to families across Windsor-Essex.”

Details of the agreement have not been released.

A ratification vote will be held in the coming days.
