Stage two of Walkerville Heritage Conservation District plan to be presented

Windsor residents can find out more about the next phase of the Walkerville Heritage Conservation District on Tuesday night at a public meeting at Willistead Manor.

Since the launch of the first stage, the City of Windsor and heritage consultants from M.R. Letourneau and Associates have hosted two public engagement events. A report, complete with recommendations to have the area recognized under the Ontario Heritage Act.

The report was presented to the city's Development and Heritage Standing Committee and City Council in May 2023. At that time, councillors endorsed the recommendation to move to stage two.

Residents who attend Tuesday's meeting at 6:30 p.m. will receive a review of the Stage One report and have the opportunity to provide feedback on potential elements for Stage Two.

The meeting will be recorded for those who can not attend and posted on the city's YouTube channel. Materials presented during the event will be available on the Let's Talk Windsor page.
