No Name grocery store at Windsor Crossing to close

Just over a year since it opened, Loblaw is shutting down its No Name grocery store at Windsor Crossing.

"We've recently made the difficult decision to close our No Name store in Windsor," said a statement from Loblaw. "While we saw a strong initial response, the location hasn't built the customer base needed to remain sustainable long-term."

The final day of operation is October 25.

The company opened three No Names grocery stores in Ontario as a pilot project.

The store in St. Catharines has already closed, but the store in Brockville will remain open.

Instead, Loblaw will focus on opening a new No Frills grocery store on Howard Avenue on October 30.
