The sweet teeth of Harrow Fair attendees have paid huge dividends for the John McGivney Children's Centre (JMCC).
The JMCC was provided a cheque for a record-breaking $118,150 following the Brad and Joanne Stannard Memorial Pie Auction.
The auction raised money for various programs offered by the JMCC, namely pediatric rehabilitation services for children and youth with physical, neurological, and developmental needs.
"For over 45 years, we’ve been proud to offer these vital services,” said JMCC CEO Jennifer Jovanovski. "This incredibly generous contribution ensures we can continue enabling every child we serve to reach their fullest potential."
Mark and Lisa Stannard continue to oversee the event with their sons Owen and Phillip. It was begun by Brad and Joanne Stannard almost three decades ago in memory of their son Todd, who had spina bifida. Todd had received support through the Red Cross, a predecessor of the JMCC.
Last year's total was a record $117,500.
The fair runs through Sunday.
