Work on Leamington's new Waterfront Market Plaza starts soon

The Municipality of Leamington hopes to break ground soon on more changes at its waterfront.

The Waterfront Market Plaza and Parking Lot Expansion Project will offer new amenities and better infrastructure.

Once it's complete, the area will have a new modern, accessible playground, a market area, a multi-use stage, new washroom facilities, and an area for food trucks.

"We're creating a space that's accessible, welcoming, and built with the needs of our community in mind," said Mayor Hilda MacDonald. "Whether you're attending a market, enjoying a performance, or spending time with family, the Waterfront Market Plaza will offer something for everyone."

Construction starts this summer with underground utility work and the expansion of the parking lot. Next spring, work begins on the market plaza, and the project should be done by next summer.
