Windsor police arrest suspect in assault near bridge

A 38-year-old man has been arrested following an assault near the Ambassador Bridge on Friday afternoon.

Windsor police officers were called to Patricia Road near Wyandotte Street West at around 2 p.m. and found a man with facial injuries. He was treated in hospital.

The victim told police he had argued with another man for allegedly stealing from the Duty Free Shop. The suspect allegedly threatened the man, punched him in the face, and then fled the scene.

Police arrested a suspect on Sunday on Glengarry Avenue near Assumption Street.

He is charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats, and failure to comply with an undertaking.

The charges have not been proven in court.
