Man charged after mall security guards threatened

A 35-year-old man has been arrested after Windsor police say he threatened mall security guards at knifepoint.

Officers were called just before 1:30 p.m. on Friday to Devonshire Mall for a report of a man with a knife.

They learned that the suspect became verbally abusive after being escorted out of the mall by security guards. The suspect then allegedly pulled out a knife and threatened the employees with it.

No one was hurt.

On Wednesday afternoon, police found the man in the Glengarry area of downtown Windsor and arrested him without incident. The knife was recovered.

He is charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of uttering threats, and two counts of breach of probation. He also faces one count of carrying a concealed weapon.

The charges have not been proven in court.
