The Windsor Essex County Health Unit is waiting for the updated vaccination records of over 6,000 students registered in local schools.
As of January 17, over 90 per cent of students are current on their vaccines.
However, 3,699 elementary and 2,781 secondary students could be suspended in March if they do not receive their vaccines and update their records with the health unit.
The deadline for parents/guardians to update student immunization records with the WECHU is Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. for elementary students and Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. for secondary students.
Elementary students could be suspended as of March 3, while secondary students face suspension on March 17.
