One injured in Windsor house fire

A Windsor resident has been treated for burns after a kitchen fire on Thursday afternoon.

Windsor Fire and Rescue crews were called at around 2 p.m. to a home on St. Clair Avenue off of Youngstown Street. When they arrived, they found the kitchen engulfed in flames with plenty of smoke.

Paramedics checked out the home's occupant, who received for first and second-degree burns. The victim was treated in hospital and released.

The fire was soon put out, but an investigator was on scene for several hours to determine the cause.

The cause of the fire was not immediately determined, but the damage estimate was at $30,000.
