Tecumseh catches the holiday spirit on Friday evening

The Town of Tecumseh will hold its holiday kickoff event on Friday night.

The annual Christmas in Tecumseh runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Tecumseh Town Centre Park, which includes Town Hall.

The town's traditional Santa Parade will start things by stepping off at 6 p.m. at Lacasse Park. It will follow a new route, heading south on Lacasse Boulevard, then turning west on McNorton, then south again on Lesperance Road before ending outside Town Hall's entrance.

The finale of the parade will be, as always, an appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus, who will then move inside town council chambers for a meet-and-greet.

"One of the highlights of the evening is seeing the joy on children’s faces as they meet Santa and Mrs. Claus," said Mayor Gary McNamara. "It’s a magical experience that truly captures the spirit of the season. We look forward to welcoming everyone for an evening filled with festive fun, community spirit, and holiday cheer."

Warm refreshments will be available at Town Centre Park while supplies last. There will also be children's entertainment, a petting zoo, horse rides and carriage rides.

Complete information about the event, including a parade map, can be found on the Town's official website.
