Today is the day Canadians remember the sacrifice of their veterans and there are a number of ceremonies to commemorate Canada's war dead across Windsor-Essex.
In Windsor, the biggest ceremony in the region starts at 11 a.m. at the Cenotaph at City Hall Square.
Silver Cross Mother Theresa Charbonneau and HMCS Hunter Commanding officer Lieutenant Commander Chris Elliott are special guest speakers. This year, students from Immaculate Conception Catholic Elementary and Dougal Avenue Public School will present messages of thanks to local veterans.

Elsewhere in the region:
In Amherstburg, a march from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 157 Hall will start at 10:30 a.m. to the cenotaph in King's Navy Yard. The service starts at 11 a.m.
In Belle River, the service is at the Belle River Cenotaph at 11 a.m., and a meal will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall.
Comber's service is at the Comber Cenotaph, starting at 10:50 a.m.
In Cottam, the service is at St. Trinity Church at 1 p.m.
The service in Harrow is at the Cenotaph in Veterans' Memorial Park at 11 a.m.
Residents in Kingsville can attend the service at the Cenotaph in front of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 188. There is also a free dinner for veterans at 6 p.m. All others will pay a $25 fee.
LaSalle's holding its service at the LaSalle Cenotaph at 11 a.m.
In Leamington, participants will march from the library to the Leamington Cenotaph. The march starts at 10:25 a.m.
Windsor City Hall is closed today, as are all other municipal halls.
Windsor Public Library branches and the 311 Call Centre are also closed.
