Man sent to hospital after LaSalle crash

One man was seriously injured in a single vehicle crash in LaSalle early Saturday morning.

Police said emergency crews responded to the area of Divine Street and Superior Avenue at 4:30 a.m. when a vehicle crashed into a tree.

The 30-year-old driver, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, was found to be impaired by alcohol.

The man is expected to recover.

He has been charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired, four counts of driving while disqualified, two counts of driving while under suspension and conveying liquor in a motor vehicle.

His drivers licence will also be suspended for 90 days.

The road was closed for several hours while police investigated.
