Lakeshore man charged after vehicle collision injures three

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are charging a Lakeshore man after a two-vehicle collision in the Municipality of Lakeshore.

Around 5:40 p.m. on Friday, emergency services including Lakeshore Fire Rescue and Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Service (EMS) were called out to Puce Road between Walls Road and Highway 401.

A pickup truck with a lone driver and a sedan with two people collided with all three being transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of an investigation, the 32-year-old man driving the pickup truck was charged with driving while impaired.

He’s since been released from custody but faces a 90-day licence suspension and a 7-day vehicle impoundment.

The man is scheduled to appear in an Ontario courtroom in Windsor on Oct. 18, 2024.
