Windsor police have invited the public to learn about water safety during a pair of events set for Sunday.
While residents enjoy the peak of the summer recreation season, they can learn about drowning prevention and safe boating with two public workshops.
A boat inspection and safe boating clinic will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lakeview Marina on Riverside Drive East near Riverdale.
The Windsor Police Marine Unit will be on hand with the Canadian Naval Reserves and the Canadian Border Services Marine Unit assisting.
The clinic itself is free, but the $15 boat launch fee for the marina applies.
A drowning prevention and water safety clinic is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Stop 26 Park, off Riverside Drive East near Clover Avenue.
Police will offer lifejacket inspections and fitting tips, guidance on knot-tying, discuss marine safety equipment, and provide information on reporting a marine emergency.
Advance sign-up is not needed.
