The City of Windsor has picked up its latest quarterly payment for playing host to Caesars Windsor.
Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG) has sent the City a cheque for $3,052,259 for hosting the gaming and entertainment complex in the first quarter of 2024.
"Investing OLG’s profits back into host communities is another example of our government’s continued efforts to strengthen local infrastructure and community programs," said Ontario Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming Stan Cho. "We remain focused on working with our municipal partners to ensure that communities across Ontario have the supports in place to empower their residents to lead active, fulfilling lives and enable local businesses to thrive."
The quarterly payments the City of Windsor receives for hosting Caesars Windsor are computed through a formula applied to all the province's gaming sites, using a graduated scale of revenue at the host property.
Since the current gaming site opened in May 1994, Windsor has received $95,370,033.
