Organizers of this year's Run with Responders 5K hope for a strong show of support from the Windsor community for its upcoming event.
Residents are invited to join first responders as they run the course along the Windsor Riverfront Trail on Sunday, July 28.
So far, nearly 400 people of all ages are expected to participate.
The proceeds will support the Law Enforcement Torch Relay for Special Olympics Ontario and the Canadian Mental Health Association - Windsor-Essex County Branch.
"Mental health is key to our well-being, and we can't truly be healthy without it," said Kim Willis, the executive director of the CMHA-WECB. "It involves how we feel, think, act, and interact with the world around us. Mental health is about realizing our potential, coping with the normal stresses of life, and making a contribution to our community."
Registration on race day starts at 7:30 a.m., with the run beginning at 9 a.m.
Entry fees are $50 for the 5K run and $25 for the 800m Run or Kids Dash.
