University of Windsor "most improved" in Quacquarelli Symonds ranking

A global ranking of universities has awarded the University of Windsor its prestigious "Most Improved - Canada" award for significant improvement over five years.

The university's ranking soared to 547 in the 2025 World University Rankings, an increase of almost 100 spots from last year and 200 since 2021.

Quacquarelli Symonds ranks 1,503 universities of the world's more than 5,600 institutions annually.

"This recognition by Quacquarelli Symonds underscores our commitment to enhancing our academic and research prowess while elevating our impact on Canada's higher education sector and the broader community," said University of Windsor President Robert Gordon.

The award was announced on June 4 at a summit in Washington, D.C.
