Suspect in Windsor identity theft surrenders to police

Windsor police have arrested a man connected to suspected identity fraud in November 2023.

The case began on November 6, when a man submitted a credit card application online using a false identity.

A month later, the man was seen on a security camera at a bank branch on Tecumseh Road East and Albert Road, where he registered the card's PIN. The suspect then maxed the card out.

On Tuesday, police reported that a 22-year-old man turned himself in.

The man is charged with three counts of fraud and one count of personation.

The charges have not been proven in court.
