Dakkota ratifies new contract with job opportunities

Workers at auto parts supplier Dakkota, represented by Unifor Local 444, ratified a tentative contract by a wide margin in a ratification vote on Sunday.

The deal passed by a margin of 97 per cent.

Dakkota is the last of the four parts suppliers represented by Unifor Local 444 to ratify their contract in the past few weeks. Unifor previously settled contracts at ZF-TRW, Avancez, and HBPO.

Unlike the other three plants, Dakkota lost its supply agreement with Stellantis last year to CPK, creating some uncertainty for workers at the facility.

The union said it achieved its goal of securing an agreement based on the contract agreed to at ZF-TRW, and secured "good job opportunities" for its members.
