Ford employees raise over $500K for United Way

The United Way/Centraide Windsor-Essex County received a major donation from the employees of Ford Motor Company in Windsor.

The 2023/2024 campaign raised $508,189 through employee contributions and other fundraisers. The funds were raised by members of Unifor Locals 200 and 240 along with employees of Leadec Industrial Services and Penske Logistics.

"To have partners who are so consistent and work so hard for us and the causes in the community is invaluable. The community would be so different without that and it would be so hard to replace," said Andrew Bothamley, VP of Finance and Operations with United Way Windsor and Essex County.

The money will go toward the United Way's Cradle to Career programs which aims to eliminate child poverty in the community.

"We have three priority neighbourhoods that we work in downtown Windsor, west Windsor, and Leamington. We're focused on long term solutions that are going to meet their needs today to make sure they get fed, they have safe housing but also give them a potential for the future," said Bothamley.
