UPDATE: ZF-TRW workers ratify three-year contract

Unifor Local 444 members have approved their tentative deal with ZF-TRW.

The union confirmed on its Facebook page Monday afternoon that ZF-TRW workers have ratified a new three-year contract.

"The committee's experience and knowledge of the workplace were vital to the process, and they remained focused on our members’ critical issues. I commend them for their commitment to our members. A well-deserved solid agreement," read a post from Local 444 President Dave Cassidy.

76 per cent of members said yes to the agreement. Terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.

Workers at ZF-TRW voted 100 per cent in favour of strike action late last month.

The Windsor Assembly feeder plant employs 280 members at the Hawthorne Drive operation.

It makes rear and front suspensions for the Chrysler Pacifica.

Unifor Local 444 represents workers at three other feeder plants, and the deal with ZF-TRW will serve as a template in those negotiations.
