Windsor police have arrested a suspect linked to at least 12 break-ins at homes in Windsor and Amherstburg over the last year.
In several of the cases, a suspect used a ladder to gain entry through a second-flood window or patio door. Money, jewelry, and other valuables were stolen from each of the homes.
On February 25, police arrested a 56-year-old at a home on Erkskine Street. During a search of the home police say they recovered evidence linking the suspect to several residential break-ins.
The man now faces nine charges of break and enter with the intent to commit an indictable offence, break and enter and stealing a firearm , possession of break-in instruments, three charges of wearing a disguise to commit an indictable offence, and three charges of attempt to commit an indictable offence.
Investigators are working with other law enforcement agencies that are investigating similar incidents. More chares are anticipated.
