Essex man charged in suspicious person incident

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested a man following a complaint about a suspicious person.

Shortly after 8 a.m. on Friday, officers from the Essex detachment responded to a report about a suspicious person on Sydenham Street in Colchester.

The officers arrested a 37-year-old Essex man without incident.

He is charged with two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, and one count of making or possessing explosives for an unlawful purpose.

The suspect was held pending a bail hearing in Windsor.

The charges have not been proven in court.
