Windsor Regional Hospital plans to lift the "Code Grey" status next week as its last major systems come back online.
The Code Grey has been in effect since October 23, when the hospital, along with all other major hospitals in the region, was the victim of a cyber attack.
Chief Nursing Officer Karen Riddell says by Tuesday, its Cardiovascular information system and its automatic medicine dispensers will be back online.
"We have lots of systems left to bring back online. However, these last two systems, Pyxsis and CVIS, were part of our last big clinical systems impacted, and we will have reached a major milestone with the restoration of those two items," said Riddell.
Last month, the diagnostic imaging system came back online. Due to the downtown, there is about a 10-week backlog of semi-urgent and non-urgent testing.
The financial impact of the cyber attack is still being calculated.
If all goes according to plan this weekend, the Code Grey will be lifted on Tuesday.
"Teams have been working really, really hard the last few months to get everything back up and running, and we'll continue on with the work to get things back online over the next few months," said Riddell.
