Residents in Leamington, Kingsville, and Essex now have access to more affordable transit.
The Leamington to Windsor transit bus system has partnered with Pathway to Potential to offer 50 per cent off bus passes for eligible residents.
The Affordable Pass Program is designed to give individuals and families living with a low income better access to transit. This will allow these residents better access to employment, education, healthcare, and other essential services.
"We are committed to fostering an inclusive and connected community where all residents have the means to thrive," said Leamington Mayor Hilda MacDonald. "The Affordable Pass Program is a reflection of our dedication to supporting those who may be facing economic challenges and ensuring that they have reliable transportation options."
Residents can apply for the program through the Municipality of Leamington's website or in person at the Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre.
Once approved, participants can purchase 30-Day and 10-Ride transit passes for LTW Transit at a 50 per cent reduced cost.
"Embracing the future of transportation means ensuring it's within reach for everyone. The APP program will allow for eligible residents to access employment, education and health appointments, and will allow them to put more money back into their pockets," said Andrew Daher, City of Windsor Commissioner of Human & Health Services.
