Vacant house fire near downtown Windsor causes $250K in damage

Windsor firefighters were busy with a blaze at a vacant home east of the downtown core.

Windsor Fire and Rescue crews were called around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday to a home on Brant Street near Marentette Avenue.

The fire was soon put out.

The cause was undetermined, as the collapse of the roof made an investigation impractical, as well as significant damage.

No injuries were reported, and the damage estimate was $250,000.
