Three arrested following months-long Windsor drug investigation

Windsor police have taken illicit drugs off the street and arrested three people following an investigation.

Members of the Emergency Services Unit executed search warrants Wednesday at a house on Albert Road near Milloy in Windsor. Officers also searched a home on Regina Street in Lakeshore.

Police seized over 661 grams of fentanyl, 50 tablets of Percocet, a small amount of crystal methamphetamine, and over 394 grams of an unknown substance believed to be a cutting agent.

Officers also recovered a nine-millimetre firearm, 55 rounds of ammunition, $2,185 in cash, and five cell phones.

The raids are the culmination of a months-long probe into a suspected drug network with ties to a street gang in Hamilton.

Three people, aged 19, 20, and 25, are each charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of a loaded restricted firearm, possession of a firearm without proper registration, and transferring and storing a restricted weapon.

The 20-year-old suspect also faces three counts of possession of a weapon contrary to an order and two counts of failure to comply with a Youth Criminal Justice Act sentence.

The charges have not been proven in court.

Anyone with information on this ongoing investigation should call the Windsor police's Drugs and Guns (DIGS) Unit at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4361. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).
