A Windsor Police officer faces assault charges in Toronto.
Windsor Police are notifying the public that Constable Harman Wahid was off-duty on April 30, when he is alleged to have committed the offence.
The Toronto Police Service charged him with assault causing bodily harm.
Windsor Police suspended Wahid with pay as per the Police Services Act of Ontario.
He has been a member of the Windsor Police Services for a year.
Saying the matter is before the courts, the Windsor Police Service will not comment further on the matter.
