City encouraging residents to clean up

The City of Windsor is calling on residents to help clean up the city.

As part of the fourth annual Provincial Day of Action on Litter on Tuesday, May 9, the city is encouraging residents and groups to pick up litter around their neighbourhood.

Any time of year, residents can register a clean-up group with the Rose City Clean Sweep program. After registration, the city will provide garbage bags and gloves to the group. The city's environmental department will collect the bags after the clean-up.

Contact 311 to register.

Ontario’s annual Day of Action on Litter encourages individuals, students, municipalities and businesses across the province to work together to raise awareness about the impacts of litter and waste and take part in a cleanup.
