Two major road projects get underway in Lakeshore and Windsor

Starting Monday and Tuesday, commuters in Windsor and Lakeshore will have two new construction projects to factor into their drive.

Road and bridge work will reduce Ouellette Avenue to one lane in each direction between Eugenie Avenue and Tecumseh Road East.

The City of Windsor said commuters should expect delays along the busy route during the project on the bridge.

The project will continue well into the summer until August 19.

Beginning on Tuesday, County Road 42 will temporarily close between Manning Road and Pike Creek.

Digital message signs have warned drivers along the stretch about the impending closure.

While access to homes and businesses will be maintained, traffic travelling through that area won't be permitted.

The County of Essex plans to install a new storm sewer outlet into Pike Creek. It's part of a multi-year plan to improve the County Road 42 corridor in Tecumseh and Lakeshore.

The storm sewer outlet installation should wrap up on May 11.
