Saints capture gold at OCAA Men's Basketball Championship

Avenging the heartbreak of the finals last season, the St. Clair College men's basketball team has won the gold at the OCAA Men's Basketball Championship.

The Saints hosted the tournament for the first time since 1980 this past weekend and will head to the CCAA Men's National Championship later this month.

The Saints beat the George Brown Huskies 106-77 in the final and captured their first OCAA Championship since 1967-68.

St. Clair College started the Final Eight tournament ranked fourth in Canada with a 15-3 record.

Six Saints players finished in double-figure scoring. Chad Vincent-Simon had 27 points, while Terence Williams scored 19, eight rebounds, and four assists. Shak Pryce tallied 12 points, with eight rebounds and 11 assists, Jesiah Deerr had 12 points and eight rebounds, and Jalen Harmon had 11 points.

Terence Williams was named the OCAA Defensive Player of the Year.

Robert Ocampo was named the Player of the Game for George Brown and Chad Vincent-Simon for the St. Clair Saints.

Shak Pryce was the tournament MVP.
