Suspected impaired driver implicated in parking lot crash

A crash in a parking lot led police officers to an impaired driver in Leamington.

Ontario Provincial Police officers arrived at the parking lot of a business on Erie Street South around 6:15 a.m. on Monday.

Police say only one vehicle was involved in the crash.

They began to suspect the driver was impaired by drugs while speaking with him.

A 28-year-old Leamington man was taken into custody and subsequently charged.

Police remind those who imbibe that it's still impaired driving, even if the substance used is drugs.

They also remind the public they can report an impaired driver any time by calling 911, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or going online to www.catchcrooks.com.

The accused will appear in a court in Windsor at a later date.
