Windsor Police Honour Guard recognized

Acting Windsor Police Chief Jason Bellaire honoured 15 officers who held vigil during the mourning period following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

The 15 formed the Honour Guard that stood in the lobby of Windsor City Hall alongside the book of condolences. The detail included officers who came in voluntarily on their days off to fulfil the important function.

Each received a certificate of recognition and a Queen's Platinum Jubilee Pin from Windsor West MP Brian Masse.

"The Platinum Jubilee Pin, in Honour of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, is an opportunity to recognize individuals, who like her Majesty, have dedicated themselves to service," said Masse.

The 15 officers are:

Sergeant Steven Gawadzyn

Constable Pat Wilson

Constable Brad Rivett

Constable Heinrich Penner

Constable Ahmed Chafchak

Constable Andrew Crosett

Special Constable Meghan Montminy

Constable Phil Gratton

Constable Sean Gazdig

Inspector Jen Crosby

Constable Simon Azzopardi

Constable Morgan Stewart

Sergeant Del Bal

Constable Jesse Soufane

Constable Dave Repko

"These dedicated members went above and beyond the call of duty, and their professionalism was on full display during this assignment," said Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens.
