Drivers charged with stunt driving

The Windsor Police Service's Traffic Enforcement Unit charged six drivers for stunt driving-related offences over the weekend.

Officers stopped two drivers on South Cameron Boulevard, one on South Cameron Boulevard and two on Huron Church Road. The drivers were travelling 40 to 60 kilometres over the posted speed limit on the roadways.

One vehicle was also impounded for stunt driving by spinning tires (burnout) and two other traffic tickets.

Drivers can be charged with stunt driving when travelling over 40km/h on roads where the posted speed limit is under 80km/h. Motorists travelling at 50 km/hr or more over the posted speed limit on roads where the speed limit is 80 km/hr or more can be charged and have their vehicle towed and their license suspended.
